CBIC imposes Anti-Dumping Duties to Protect Domestic Industry

The Central Government has imposed anti-dumping duties on the import of certain goods to safeguard the interests of the domestic industry, following the recommendations of the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR).

Vide Notification No. 36/2025–Customs (ADD) dated 24th December 2025, anti-dumping duty has been imposed on imports of 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane (R-134a), originating in or exported from China PR. The investigation concluded that the subject goods were dumped into India at prices below normal value, causing material injury to the domestic industry. The duty shall remain in force for a period of five years, unless revoked or amended earlier.

Further, through Notification No. 37/2025–Customs (ADD) dated 24th December 2025, anti-dumping duty has been levied on imports of Calcium Carbonate Filler Masterbatch originating in or exported from Vietnam, based on findings of dumping and injury to domestic producers. The measure aims to restore fair trade and ensure a level playing field for Indian manufacturers.
