CBIC Amends Customs Notification to Include Malur, Kolar District as a Customs Area

The CBIC issued Notification No. 66/2025-Customs (N.T.), dated October 23, 2025, to further amend previous customs regulations.

This latest notification, exercising powers conferred by the Customs Act, 1962, specifically modifies the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 12/97-Customs (N.T.) dated April 2, 1997.

Under the updated regulations, “Malur, Kolar District” in the State of Karnataka has been officially included in the table against serial number 6. This designation now permits “unloading of imported goods and the loading of export goods or any class of such goods” within the Malur, Kolar District area.

This amendment is expected to facilitate trade and logistics activities in the region, providing a designated customs area for businesses involved in international trade. The original notification No. 12/97-Customs (N.T.) has been subject to various amendments over the years, with the latest significant change being notification No. 54/2025-Customs (N.T.) dated September 10, 2025, and G.S.R. 628(E) dated September 12, 2025.
