Body worn cams a must for customs officers at Kempegowda International Airport

It is now mandatory for customs officers at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) to wear body worn cameras (BWC) while stationed at the Red Channel (the lane passengers must choose if carrying dutiable, restricted or prohibited goods exceeding duty-free allowances) and during interactions with passengers on the airport premises.

In a public advisory issued Wednesday, Bengaluru Customs zone said the new rule is in line with international best practices, and passenger feedback has been “overwhelmingly positive”.
