The Government of India has revised the export policy of wheat flour and related products falling under ITC (HS) Code 11010000, changing their export status from ‘Prohibited’ to ‘Free’ with immediate effect.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued Notification No. 34/2026-27 dated 24 August 2026 in this regard.
The amendment has been made by the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 5 read with Section 3 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992), as amended, and read with Para 1.02 and Para 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023.
Under the notification, the export policy prescribed in Schedule 2 of the ITC (HS) Export Policy has been amended for products covered under ITC (HS) Code 11010000.
The products covered under the revised export policy include Wheat or Meslin Flour (Atta), Maida, Semolina (Rava/Sirgi), Wholemeal Atta and Resultant Atta. The existing export policy for these products, which was ‘Prohibited’, has now been revised to ‘Free’.
Accordingly, export of the above-mentioned wheat flour and related products shall be permitted under the ‘Free’ export policy category with immediate effect, subject to the applicable provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy and related regulatory requirements.
The Effect of the Notification specifically provides that the export policy of wheat flour and related products falling under HS Code 11010000 has been revised from ‘Prohibited’ to ‘Free’ with immediate effect.
