
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has invited applications for the allocation of Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQs) under the India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) for the Financial Year 2026–27.
The applications have been invited through Public Notice No. 24/2026-27 dated August 03, 2026, issued in exercise of the powers conferred under paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023. The Public Notice has been issued in continuation of Public Notice No. 20/2026-27 dated 13 July 2026.
Applications for the notified TRQs may be submitted from 4 August 2026 to 19 August 2026. The allocation covers 30 tariff lines relating to agricultural produce, marble and natural stone, chemicals, polymers, plastics and aluminium products.
The notified products include fresh and other dates, marble and travertine blocks and slabs, ethylene glycol, linear alkylbenzenes, low-density polyethylene, linear low-density polyethylene, polypropylene, propylene copolymers, ABS copolymers, PVC resin, PET flakes and other primary forms, marble blocks, tiles and monumental stone, aluminium ingots and aluminium wire.
Among the major quota quantities notified for FY 2026–27 are 2,000 metric tonnes of dates, 1,00,000 metric tonnes of marble and travertine blocks, 1,50,000 metric tonnes of ethylene glycol, 75,000 metric tonnes under the notified polyethylene tariff lines, and 10,700 metric tonnes under the notified polypropylene and propylene copolymer tariff lines. The notice also provides product-specific quotas for PVC resin, PET flakes, marble products and aluminium goods.
Imports against the allocated quotas will be permitted in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Annexure-VIII of Appendix 2A of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, as referred to in Public Notice No. 20/2026-27 dated 13 July 2026.
The Public Notice also prescribes additional mandatory documents for specified products. Applicants seeking allocation for marble blocks are required to submit a valid Chartered Engineer’s Certificate certifying the installed processing capacity, machinery installation and production undertaken during the preceding three financial years. A draft format of the certificate has been provided as Annexure-A to the notice.
Applicants for the notified categories of marble slabs, marble blocks, tiles and monumental stone are required to submit a valid pre-purchase agreement with the supplier in Oman.
For the notified PET flake tariff lines, applicants are required to submit a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in accordance with its Office Memorandum No. 23/66/2019-HSMD dated 23 August 2022.
The measure will facilitate the operationalisation of the tariff concessions committed under the India–Oman CEPA while ensuring transparent and procedure-based allocation of the notified import quotas.
