Vodafone Idea Limited received an Order confirming a penalty of 8,93,30,093/-under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, according to an exchange filing.
The order passed under section 74 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 confirmed penalty along with demand and Interest as applicable.
The matter was related to an allegation of availment of ITC attributable towards an exempt supply of services.
The Company is likely to challenge the order before an appropriate authority. “The Company does not agree with the Order and will take appropriate action(s) against the same,” Vodafone Idea said in their regulatory filing.
