Milk products sold under the brand name ‘Sanchi’ will get cheaper as the new GST rates come into effect from Monday. The six co-operative unions at Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Sagar, Jabalpur and Gwalior working under the umbrella organisation – The MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation Ltd (MPCDF)- will pass on the benefits of lower GST rate to its consumers said managing director, MPCDF on Friday.
He further said that Sanchi paneer, ghee, table butter and ice cream will become cheaper. One kg of Sanchi paneer which attracted GST at the rate of 5% till now and was priced at Rs 380 would get cheaper by Rs 18 and sell at Rs 362 per kg as the GST rate comes to zero, he said.
Similarly, Sanchi ghee which is priced at Rs 630 per kg with 12% GST will be sold at Rs 590 per kg (a reduction of Rs 40) as the GST rate on ghee reduces from 12% to 5%.
The Sanchi table butter and ice cream will also become cheaper as the GST rates on them have been reduced by 7 and 13% respectively from Monday.
