MCA fixes V3 portal glitches, reviews server capacity amid high load

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is working to resolve technical as well as approval and awareness-related issues being faced by users on the version 3 of its portal, official sources said.

The ministry has asked LTI Mindtree, the service provider for the portal, to look into the volumes coming on to the portal and whether it needs ramping up of server capacities, official sources said.

“A lot of technical issues have been resolved already. The tickets being raised are coming down and issues not resolved within 48 hours are being addressed on priority,” an official source said.

LTI Mindtree did not respond to email queries sent to them by Business Standard on this issue till the time of going to the press.

The latest version of MCA portal with final 38 new e-Forms was launched on January 14. In version 2, forms were required to be filled and uploaded in the portal, while in V3, the forms are supposed to be filled online. This was done to enable user convenience, including the ability to save a half-filled form and file it later.

“Awareness issues are being handled thru social media informative posts. Open houses are  also being organised to resolve the issues,” the official source added.

Professionals such as company secretaries, chartered accountants have raised several technical issues with the new version 3 portal, which has delayed annual filings.

The MCA has extended the deadline for filing of the forms till December 31.

Despite the glitches, in September, a total of 23,113 companies were registered on the MCA portal, up from 11,110 companies in the corresponding month last year. Total number of Director Identification Numbers too increased by almost 73 per cent in September 2025 to 53,217, compared to September last year.

The new version also includes a personalised “My Application” feature which allows one to view all the forms filed by them till date along with the status of the forms, such as pending for DSC upload, under processing, pay fees, resubmission among others.

Technical snags flagged by professionals ranged from inability to change password, update profile, save data in e-forms to low size of attachments allowed on the portal and requirement of prior approvals for filling of certain forms.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) along with Institutes of Company Secretaries and Cost Accountants recently held a meeting to point out the gaps in the portal and also set up a help desk to help out professionals.

ICAI President in an interview to Business Standard last week said that the user acceptance test conducted before the launch of the portal had gone smoothly.

“Testing issues and actual implementations can have some differences,” he had said.
