The process of registering an individual PAN on the Income Tax Department (ITD) portal has changed. Now, Aadhaar-based OTP (One-Time Password) verification is mandatory to complete the registration. This means your Aadhaar must be linked with a valid mobile number to receive the OTP. During registration, users are prompted to agree to UIDAI database validation and then enter the OTP received on their Aadhaar-registered mobile number. Without this step, PAN registration on the ITD portal cannot proceed.
