Man booked for Rs 10 crore GST fraud

The economic offences cell has registered an offence against Naqeeb Mulla for allegedly committing a Rs. 10 crore GST fraud.

The complaint was filed by Imran Madiwale, the authorised representative of Aeroamphibious, which has offices in Belagavi, Karnataka, and Arpora, Goa. Mulla, the proprietor of WS Federal Logistics Company in Belagavi, introduced himself as a tax consultant and was engaged by Madiwale as a tax and GST consultant from Jan 1, 2022, to June 20, 2024.

Mulla was given access to sensitive data and GST login credentials for business entities, including WS Royal Jamo’s Resort, which is currently under a high court sealing order. It is alleged that he manipulated the GST portal, falsely reporting fictitious outward supplies and wrongfully claiming an input tax credit of Rs 10 crore in the name of Aeroamphibious, claiming ownership.

Additionally, Mulla is accused of illegally transferring fraudulent credit trails of Rs 7.2 crore of input tax credits to his own entity, using forged screenshots of GSTR-3B returns to inflate tax liabilities, and misappropriating funds under the pretence of depositing them as govt dues.

Investigations are ongoing, led by PI Razashad Shaikh.
