The Karnataka GST Department issued Press Release dated July 19, 2025, stating that, It has come to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department through electronic media that, some officer/staff member has allegedly demanded bribe in connection with UPI-related matter. It is also noticed that few middlemen are demanding money from traders under the pretext of help.
The Department has zero tolerance towards corruption and is committed to take suitable action on officer / staff involved.
The traders are requested to immediately report such incidents to the Department.
