The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on June 08, 2026 announced revisions in the categories available on the UDIN Portal following the approval of the ICAI Council at its 446th Meeting held on 08 October 2025.
As per the revised classification, the category “Certificates” has been renamed as “Certificates and Other Reports”, while “GST & Tax Audit” has been renamed as “Tax Audit”. The category “Audit & Assurance Functions” will continue without any change.
ICAI has advised members to use the revised categories while generating UDINs to ensure proper classification of documents on the portal.
The changes are aimed at improving clarity, uniformity, and efficiency in the UDIN framework and strengthening the authenticity and traceability of documents certified by Chartered Accountants.
