The Government of Haryana, Excise and Taxation Department, has issued Notification No. 06/GST-2 dated May 18, 2026, published in the Haryana Government Gazette (Extraordinary), notifying the extended time limit for filing of appeals before the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) under sub-section (1) of section 112 of the Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (19 of 2017).
In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of section 112 of the Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, the Governor of Haryana, on the recommendations of the GST Council, has hereby notified the 30th day of June, 2026 as the date upto which an appeal may be filed before the Appellate Tribunal under the said Act, in respect of all cases where the order sought to be appealed against has been communicated to the person preferring the appeal before the 1st day of April, 2026.
Further, in respect of all orders communicated on or after the 1st day of April, 2026, appeals may be filed before the Appellate Tribunal within a period of three months from the date on which such order is communicated to the person preferring the appeal.
This notification is aligned with the corresponding notification issued by the Central Government and provides clarity and adequate time to taxpayers and other affected persons to prefer appeals before the GST Appellate Tribunal, particularly in respect of orders communicated prior to 1st April, 2026, where appeals were pending on account of the Tribunal not being operational. The measure is expected to facilitate orderly transition of pending appeals and reduce litigation.
