The state of Gujarat posted robust double-digit growth in Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue in January 2026. As per figures released by the Union Finance Ministry, Gujarat’s post-settlement State GST (SGST) collection rose 13% year-on-year to ₹7,742 crore, up from ₹6,873 crore in January 2025.

On a pre-settlement basis, the state collected ₹4,338 crore in SGST during January 2026, registering an 8% increase compared to ₹4,025 crore in the corresponding month last year.

Across India, post-settlement SGST collections from states and Union Territories grew by 6%, reaching ₹91,731 crore in January 2026, compared to ₹86,388 crore a year earlier. Pre-settlement SGST collections also increased by 6% to ₹47,817 crore.

Among states and Union Territories, Haryana recorded the highest growth at 27%, followed by Manipur at 22% and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu at 19%. Meanwhile, Jharkhand (-46%), Chhattisgarh (-23%), and Madhya Pradesh (-15%) witnessed sharp declines in their year-on-year collections.

Although the figures remain provisional and may be revised, Gujarat’s sustained GST growth underlines stable consumption patterns and improved compliance during the month.
