Gujarat’s GST mop-up rose 9% in the April–November period of FY26, with the state collecting Rs 52,390 crore, up from Rs 48,085 crore in the same period last year, according to data released by the Office of the Chief State Tax Commissioner on Monday.
Monthly collections saw a modest uptick. Gujarat reported Rs 6,723 crore GST revenue in Nov, just 1% higher than the Rs 6,655 crore collected in Nov 2024. The state’s growth marginally outpaced the 0.7% rise in GST revenue at the national level last month.
Beyond GST, the state earned Rs 2,707 crore from VAT, Rs 1,025 crore from electricity duty, and Rs 14 crore from business tax in Nov this year. Combined, the state tax department mobilised Rs 10,469 crore through GST, VAT, electricity charges, and business tax during the month.
Enforcement activity also delivered a sharp jump. Revenue generated through mobile squad checks and exploration work touched Rs 32.40 crore in Nov, marking a 61.7% surge over the Rs 20.03 crore collected in the same month last year.
Officials said the steady year-on-year growth reflects improved compliance and monitoring, alongside stable economic activity across key sectors.
