Gujarat’s tax department reported a 17% increase in Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue for January 2025 compared to the corresponding period last year. It collected Rs 6,873 crore under GST in January 2025, surpassing January 2024. The national GST revenue growth stood at 12% for the same month.
In addition to GST, Gujarat generated Rs 6,856 crore from VAT, Rs 998 crore from electricity duty, and Rs 21 crore from professional tax this January. This brings the total tax revenue from GST, VAT, electricity duty, and professional tax to Rs 10,748 crore for the month.
For the first 10 months of the 2024-25 financial year, Gujarat’s total tax revenue across these categories reached Rs 98,674 crore.
