Gujarat’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection has soared to an all-time high of ₹14,970 crore in April 2025, registering a 13% year-on-year growth, as per the latest official data released by the Ministry of Finance.

In April 2025, Gujarat recorded a GST collection of ₹14,970 crore, marking a 13% growth surpassing ₹13,301 crore collected in April 2024. This ranks Gujarat third in GST collections nationwide, following Maharashtra (₹41,645 crore) and Karnataka (₹17,815 crore). However, considering the growth rate, Gujarat has maintained a steady 13% year-on-year increase, while Maharashtra’s growth slowed to 11% in April 2025 from 13% in the same month last year. Furthermore, Gujarat’s total GST revenue for the financial year 2024–25 reached ₹73,281 crore, registering a strong 14% rise compared to ₹64,133 crore in 2023–24.

With its record GST collection, Gujarat has outperformed major states, including Tamil Nadu (₹13,831 crore), Uttar Pradesh (₹13,600 crore), Haryana (₹14,057 crore), West Bengal (₹8,188 crore), Rajasthan (₹6,228 crore), Madhya Pradesh (₹5,302 crore), Punjab (₹3,104 crore), and Bihar (₹2,290 crore). Among smaller states and Union Territories, Arunachal Pradesh reported a 66% growth in GST collection, followed by Meghalaya at 50% and Nagaland at 42%. Lakshadweep recorded an exceptional 287% rise. At the national level, the Government of India registered a record GST revenue of ₹2,36,716 crore in April 2025, reflecting a 12.6% year-on-year growth. Gujarat’s 13% growth in GST collection thus stands above the national average.
