
The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) on February 03, 2026 has announced a significant enhancement to taxpayer convenience with the rollout of GST payment facilities through UPI and Debit/Credit Cards in Telangana.
This upgrade enables seamless GST payments through all major UPI apps and cards powered by RuPay, Visa, Mastercard, and Diners Club, strengthening the digital payment ecosystem for businesses and individuals.
Expanded Bank Support
The facility has been enabled through leading banks including:
- ICICI Bank
- Federal Bank
These banks now support GST payments through:
- Unified Payments Interface (UPI)
- Debit Cards
- Credit Cards
This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s continued push toward expanding digital payment infrastructure and improving taxpayer ease-of-compliance.
Pan-India Rollout Progress
The facility is already operational across 29 States and Union Territories, with the remaining regions and additional banks to be onboarded soon. The inclusion of Telangana marks another milestone toward achieving nationwide coverage.
