The GSTN on September 24, 2025, expanded its payment options, announcing that the GST payment facility through UPI and Credit/Debit cards is now also available in Bihar and Nagaland, with Credit/Debit Card and UPI payments enabled via Union Bank, further strengthening digital compliance convenience for taxpayers.
This facility, aimed at simplifying GST compliance, is currently available across 26 States and Union Territories, including Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and more. The initiative is expected to roll out across the rest of India soon, ensuring nationwide access.

The facility is supported by leading banks such as Axis Bank, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Union Bank, among others. Specialized support is also being provided by banks like Bandhan Bank, ICICI Bank, Indian Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank, Karnataka Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, and South Indian Bank, with certain banks offering card-only, debit-only, or UPI-only services.
Union Bank Joins In:
With this update, Union Bank now enables GST payments via both credit/debit cards and UPI, further broadening taxpayers’ choices for seamless transactions.
