The Principal Chief Commissioner of CGST & Central Excise, Chennai Zone, vide Trade Notice No. 01/2025 dated January 28, 2025, notifies GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) locations for biometric Aadhar authentication, photo capture, and document verification under Rule 8(4A) of CGST Rules, 2017. The annexure lists GSKs by jurisdiction across Tamil Nadu. Officials, taxpayers, and trade associations are urged to disseminate this information. Commissioners must sensitize officers handling taxpayer services, while industry bodies should notify members. The notice aims to streamline Aadhar-based registration processes.
The proviso to sub-rule 4A of rule 8 of the CGST Rules, 2017 prescribes biometric Aadhar authentication, taking photograph of the applicant and for verification of documents for certain category of application of registration. In this regard, GST Suvidha Kendras are established across the State of Tamil Nadu.
The trade is informed that GST Suvidha Kendra (facilitation centres) in respect of applicants falling under different jurisdictions within Tamil Nadu for the purpose of bio-metric based Aadhar authentication are furnished in Annexure to this Trade Notice.
The Trade Notice is issued to facilitate the trade to know the location of the GST Suvidha Kendra of their jurisdiction. The Trade Notice will come into effect from 28/01/2025 (00.00 hours).
All the Principal Commissioner/Commissioners of Chennai CGST Zone are requested to bring the contents of the Trade Notice to the Notice of all the Officers under their charge and taxpayers/trade falling under their jurisdiction. The Commissioners are further requested to equip/sensitize all the officers especially those handling the Taxpayers service Centre/Seva Kendra in each Commissionerate about the Suvidha Kendra and its location.
Trade and Industry Association/Chambers of Commerce are requested to bring the contents of the Trade Notice to the Notice of all the Members and trade in general.
