Growth Momentum and Economic Outlook: The October 2026 GST revenue figures indicate a substantial acceleration in year-on-year tax collection growth, supported particularly by the sharp rise in import-related GST revenue and positive growth in domestic collections. Gross GST revenue growth accelerated from 14.7% in September 2026 to 22.9% in October 2026. While the figures point towards stronger tax revenue mobilisation, the difference between domestic and import-related growth highlights the importance of examining the underlying composition of collections while assessing overall economic performance.
