Government Extends Minimum Import Price (MIP) on Virgin Multi-layer Paper Board Imports till 30 September 2026

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued Notification No. 14/2026-27 dated 30th April 2026, extending the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition on import of specified items covered under Chapter 48 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy).

The notification has been issued in exercise of powers conferred under Sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with relevant provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023.

As per the notification, the existing MIP condition imposed on import of Virgin Multi-layer Paper Board (VPB) has been extended up to 30th September 2026. The extension continues the conditions prescribed earlier under Notification No. 26/2025-26 dated 22nd August 2025.

Under the revised provision, imports of specified paper board items under ITC (HS) Codes 48059100, 48059200, 48059300, 48109200 and 48109900 shall continue to attract a Minimum Import Price of INR 67,220 per metric tonne on CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) basis.

The decision has been taken in continuation of Notification No. 69/2025-26 dated 31 March 2026 read with Policy Circular No. 04/2025-26 dated 03rd September 2026.

The extension is aimed at ensuring fair trade practices and maintaining stability in the domestic paper and paperboard industry by regulating low-priced imports of specified grades of paper board products.
