Extension of Last Date for Submission of TRQ Applications for FY 2026-27 under Various FTAs/PTAs

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has issued Public Notice No. 50/2025-26 dated 24th February 2026 extending the last date for submission of online applications for allocation of Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) for various products covered under several Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs) as listed in Appendix-2A of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023. Exercising the powers under Paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the FTP 2023, DGFT has allowed TRQ applications for FY 2026-27 to be submitted between 28.02.2026 and 15.03.2026.

The notification covers TRQ items under the India–Sri Lanka FTA including Vanaspati, bakery shortening and margarine (2,50,000 MT), pepper (2,500 MT), and desiccated coconut (500 MT), with procedures to be followed as prescribed in Annexure-I of Appendix-2A. Under the India–Mercosur Trade Agreement, the TRQ for crude soy oil imported from Paraguay has been fixed at 30,000 MT as per Annexure-II guidelines. The India–Mauritius CECPA items include fresh fruits such as pineapples and litchi, vanilla in both crushed and uncrushed forms, specialty sugar (2,000 MT), rum and other alcoholic beverages (combined quota of 1.5 million litres), and apparel and clothing accessories with an overall quota of 7.5 million pieces, of which at least 5 million pieces must be manufactured from Indian yarn or fabric. These are governed by procedures laid down in Annexure-III.

The TRQ quantities under the India–Nepal Treaty include Vanaspati (1 lakh MT), acrylic yarn (10,000 MT), copper products (10,000 MT), and zinc oxide (2,500 MT), in accordance with Annexure-VI. Under the India–UAE CEPA, quotas have been notified for various polymer and petrochemical products such as linear low-density polyethylene (67,500 MT), low-density polyethylene (2,22,000 MT), polypropylene (1,00,000 MT), suspension-grade PVC resin (60,000 MT), and different categories of copper wire up to 1,25,000 MT, following procedures given in Annexure-IV of Appendix-2A.

The DGFT has clarified that all applications for the allocation of TRQ for FY 2026-27 under the notified FTAs and PTAs must be submitted online on or before 15th March 2026. All other terms and conditions under Appendix-2A of the FTP 2023 shall continue to remain applicable.
