DGGI cracks down on Rs 29 cr GST fraud, 1 held

The accused in a GST fraud case involving over Rs 29 crore has been arrested. This major action was carried out by the Jaipur zonal unit of DGGI. Following a raid in Bagru on Monday, the arrest was made on Tuesday late evening. According to reliable sources, the accused, Ghaseelal Choudhary, is the director of Nirman Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. He runs a busainess in TMT bars under the brand name Bhaskar Sariya. Choudhary had also contested elections for the Malpura assembly seat. In addition to Choudhary, DGGI officials are also interrogating a close dealer from Sikar late into the night. Documents indicate that goods worth over Rs 600 cr were supplied across the state. This case is being considered one of the largest involving the supply of goods without bills in the country.
