DGFT’s Corrigendum; Expands Import Restrictions on Precious Metal Alloys Containing Gold under Chapter 71

The DGFT issued a Corrigendum on June 25, 2025, to Notification No. 18/2025-26 dated June 17, 2025, amending the Import Policy under Chapter 71 of ITC (HS) 2022, Schedule-I. The amendment updates import restrictions for items under ITC(HS) codes 71104100 and 71104900. Previously, only Iridium alloy containing over 1% gold by weight was restricted; the revision extends this restriction to include Iridium, Osmium, and Ruthenium alloys containing over 1% gold by weight.

In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, as amended from time to time, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Notification No. 18/2025-26 dated 17.06.2025.

The Import Policy Condition of the following ITC (HS) codes is amended as under (changes made are in bold letters):
