The DGFT vide Public Notice No. 37/2025-26 dated December 11, 2025 has notified amendments in the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) A-290 pertaining to the export product Metformin HCL.
The amendments have been carried out in exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, as amended from time to time.
As per Public Notice, the Unit of Measurement (UOM) for import items allowed against SION A-290 has been revised. The updated norms rationalise the quantities by expressing them directly in kilograms instead of kilogram per kilogram.
Under the amended provisions:
- The import item Dicyanodiamide has been fixed at 0.567 kg per kg of export product.
- The import item DMF has been fixed at 0.37 kg per kg of export product.
The DGFT has clarified that the revised Unit of Measurement for the specified import items under SION A-290 shall come into force with immediate effect.
The public notice has been issued with a view to ensuring greater clarity, uniformity and ease of compliance for exporters operating under the Advance Authorisation Scheme.
