The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued Public Notice No. 47/2025-26 dated 11th February 2026, notifying an amendment to Para 4.73 (19) of the Handbook of Procedures (HBP) 2023.
The amendment has been made in exercise of powers conferred under Paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, as amended from time to time. The changes come into effect immediately.
Key Amendment
Under Para 4.73 (19) of HBP 2023, the name of the laboratory has been revised as follows:
- Existing Entry: GIA Laboratory, DMCC, Dubai, UAE
- Revised Entry: GIA Laboratory, FZCO, Dubai, UAE
Effect of the Public Notice
The suffix of the GIA Laboratory listed at Serial No. 19 of Para 4.73 has been changed from “DMCC” to “FZCO”, aligning the Handbook of Procedures with the updated nomenclature of the laboratory.
This amendment ensures accuracy in official records and facilitates clarity for stakeholders engaged in international trade transactions.
