Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Thursday indicated that positive developments are expected from the Centre regarding the state’s pending GST balance dues.
Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar said he had met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and discussed the GST dues along with other issues.
“She assured something. I don’t want to reveal anything now,” he stated, adding that good news on the GST balance due to the state was awaited from the Centre.
The Chief Minister also referred to the GST Council meeting, noting that the issues raised by Karnataka had received consensus among all members.
He emphasised the state’s position that traders should not be harassed, and instead be encouraged to pay taxes correctly and without discrepancies.
