CGST Kanpur Hosts ‘SAMVAD’ on Next-Gen GST 2.0 Reforms with Stakeholders and Policymakers

The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) department of Kanpur successfully organized ‘SAMVAD’   to discuss the  Next-Gen GST 2.0 Reforms, bringing together key stakeholders from the industrial and trade community, tax professionals, and policymakers. Hon’ble MoS (Finance) Sh. Pankaj Chaudhary graced the occasion as Chief Guest of the event. The event witnessed participation from a host of dignitaries, including Hon’ble  MP Shri Ashok Rawat, senior officials of the CGST department Member(Customs) CBIC and Zonal Member, Sh. Surjit Bhujbal & Lucknow CGST zone Chief Commissioner Sh. P.K. Katiyar, prominent traders, industrialists, and tax experts, who engaged in constructive dialogue about the future of India’s tax structure.

Honourable MoS (Finance) in his keynote address, stated, “GST 2.0 is a significant step forward in making India’s tax system more streamlined and business-friendly besides reducing the tax burden on consumers. The government is committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure that these reforms create a conducive environment for economic growth.”

Member(Customs) CBIC and Zonal Member emphasized the department’s dedication to ensuring that GST 2.0 aligns with the needs of the taxpayers while maintaining revenue neutrality for the government. Member(Customs) also stressed that CBIC will make all out effort so that benefit of tax reduction reaches to consumers.

CGST department invited feedback from traders, entrepreneurs, and tax professionals to incorporate practical insights into the reform framework. MSME and Women entrepreneurs participated in large number which was highlight of the event.
