The CBIC issued Instruction No. 03/2025-Customs on April 03, 2025, stating that Polyethylene Glycol (CAS No. 25322-68-3) does not fall under SCOMET as per the DGFT’s Office Memorandum dated 27.03.2025. Therefore, no SCOMET export authorization is needed for its export. Officers are requested to ensure strict compliance with this export policy.
Reference is invited to Directorate General of Foreign Trade Office Memorandum dated 27.03.2025 issued from File No. 01/77/171/118/AM25/EC(S) (copy enclosed), on the above subject.
Vide the O.M. dated 27.03.2025, it has been clarified by DGFT that as per existing export policy, Polyethylene Glycol CAS no. 25322-68- 3 does not fall under SCOMET and hence no SCOMET export authorization is needed for its export.
In view of the above, it is requested that necessary action may be taken to sensitize officers under your jurisdiction for strict compliance of the aforesaid export policy conditions.
