The CBDT issued Notification No. 48/2025 dated May 14, 2025, specifying a zero coupon bond under the Income-tax Act, 1961. The bond, named the “Ten Year Zero Coupon Bond of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd.,” has a ten-year life period and will be issued by March 31, 2027. It has a maturity value of Rs. 10,000 crores, a discount of Rs. 4,916.51 crores, and will issue ten lakh bonds.
