The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught Deputy Assistant Commissioner, K. Jaya Lakshmi, working in Atchyutapuram Circle, Division-II, State Tax Department, Visakhapatnam, while she was allegedly taking ₹25,000 as bribe from a businessman on Friday.
The accused officer demanded bribe from the complainant for releasing the interior design material which was transported from Hyderabad without proper documents.
The ACB team arrested a private parcel service employee, M. Sanyasi Raju, who received the money.
They would be produced in the Visakhapatnam ACB Special Court, the investigation officers said in a release.
