According to sources cited by NDTV Profit, the 57th GST Council has deferred two proposals while approving the rest of the agenda:
- Section 16(2) proposal deferred — concerns were raised over the condition linked to the seller’s tax payment and the possible misuse through fake billing/ITC; the proposal has been referred to a Group of Ministers.
- Section 17(5) proposal deferred — relating to ITC claims on motor vehicles.
- All remaining proposals have been approved by the Council.
