DGFT Extends Deadline for Surrender of Unutilised Raw Sugar TRQ Quantity till October 15, 2026

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has extended the timeline for surrender of unutilised Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) quantity allocated for import of 10 LMT of Raw Sugar.

The extension has been issued vide Public Notice No. 31/2026-27 dated September 30, 2026, in exercise of powers conferred under Paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023. Deadline extended till October 15, 2026

Under the revised timeline, TRQ holders may surrender any unutilised quantity allocated under the Raw Sugar TRQ up to October 15, 2026. Adobe Scan Sep 30, 2026 (1)

The extension provides additional time to TRQ holders who are unable to utilise their entire allocated quota and wish to surrender the balance quantity under the prescribed mechanism.

0.5% of CIF value payable on surrendered quantity

The surrender of unutilised TRQ quantity will be subject to payment of an amount equivalent to 0.5% of the CIF value of the quantity surrendered, in accordance with the existing modalities. Adobe Scan Sep 30, 2026 (1)

Accordingly, eligible TRQ holders intending to surrender any unutilised allocation should complete the process within the extended deadline while complying with the prescribed payment requirement.

Other terms and conditions remain unchanged

DGFT has clarified that all other terms and conditions contained in Public Notice No. 27/2026-27 dated August 20, 2026 shall remain unchanged.
