Telangana GST Department Delegates Key Powers to Special Commissioner under TGST Act

The Telangana GST Department, through Notification No. 07/2025 dated February 06, 2025, has delegated powers under Sections 69 (arrest powers), 83 (provisional attachment to protect revenue), and 132 (punishment for certain offences) of the Telangana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, to the Special Commissioner (CT) in Hyderabad. This delegation is effective from February 06, 2025.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 167 of the Telangana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (23 of 2017) the Commissioner of State Tax, Telangana hereby delegates the powers under Section 69 (powers to arrest), under Section 83 (provisional attachment to protect revenue in certain cases) and under Section 132 ((Punishment for certain offences) to the Special Commissioner (CT) O/o the Commissioner of State Tax, Telangana, Hyderabad.

This notification shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 6th day of February, 2025.
