The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has extended the timeline for submission of applications for one-time conversion of eligible Advance Authorisations under SION E-52 to TRQ for import of Raw Sugar. The extension has been notified through Public Notice No. 29/2026-27 dated September 03, 2026.
The Public Notice has been issued in continuation of Public Notice No. 27/2026-2027 dated 20 August 2026 and the Corrigendum dated 24 August 2026 thereto. The measure has been notified by the Director General of Foreign Trade in exercise of powers conferred under Paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023.
In view of the extension of the application window under the TRQ Scheme through Public Notice No. 28/2026-2027 dated 01 September 2026, DGFT has provided an extended window from 03 September 2026 to 07 September 2026, both days inclusive, for submission of applications seeking one-time conversion of eligible Advance Authorisations under SION E-52 to TRQ. Accordingly, 07 September 2026 will be the last date for submission of such applications.
Eligible Advance Authorisation holders covered under SION E-52 may, therefore, apply for the one-time conversion from the Advance Authorisation Scheme to TRQ up to 07 September 2026.
DGFT has clarified that all other terms and conditions stipulated under Public Notice No. 27/2026-2027 dated 20 August 2026, as amended by the Corrigendum dated 24 August 2026, as well as the applicable provisions governing the one-time conversion of Advance Authorisations under SION E-52 to TRQ, will continue to apply mutatis mutandis.
The Public Notice further states that DGFT reserves the right to amend, modify, relax or withdraw any provision of the Public Notice, as may be considered necessary, subject to the Foreign Trade Policy and applicable law.
The effect of Public Notice No. 29/2026-27 is that eligible applicants have been granted an additional window from 03 September to 07 September 2026 for filing applications for one-time conversion of Advance Authorisations under SION E-52 to TRQ, with 07 September 2026 being the final date for submission.
