GSTAT Ahmedabad Bench to Commence Hearing of Appeals from 3 August 2026; Two Benches constituted to hear Category-I and Category-II cases; daily cause lists to be published online

The Ahmedabad Bench of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) will commence hearing of cases with effect from 3 August 2026, according to Public Notice No. 03/2026 dated 16 July 2026.

The hearings will initially be conducted from the temporary premises of the Ahmedabad Bench situated at Room No. 804, 8th Floor, GNFC Infotowers, Bodakdev, Ahmedabad–380054.

The public notice has been issued for the information of taxpayers, departmental authorities, authorised representatives, advocates, consultants and other stakeholders concerned with proceedings before the GST Appellate Tribunal.

Two Benches Constituted for Hearing of Cases

In accordance with Office Order No. 3/GSTAT/PB/2026 dated 14 May 2026, issued by the President of GSTAT, two Benches have been constituted at Ahmedabad.

Court No. I will comprise:

Shri Gunvantlal Manchanddas Patel, Vice-President, along with Shri Pramod Kumar Singh, Technical Member (Centre).

The Bench will hear Category-I cases.

Court No. II will comprise:

Ms. Shailaja Shashikant Sawant, Judicial Member, along with Shri Dineshkumar Vajeshanker Trivedi, Technical Member (State).

The Bench will hear Category-II cases.

The composition and allocation of cases between the two courts are set out in the table appearing on page 1 of the public notice.

Daily Cause Lists to Be Available Online

The daily cause list containing matters listed before the Ahmedabad Benches will be made available on the official GSTAT website and the designated cause-list portal.

Stakeholders have been advised to regularly refer to the online cause lists for updates regarding the listing and hearing of their respective matters.

Trade and Professional Bodies Requested to Publicise Notice

Trade and industry associations, Chambers of Commerce, Tax Bar Associations and other professional bodies have been requested to widely publicise the commencement of hearings and circulate the public notice among their members.

The notice has also been circulated to, among others, the Gujarat High Court, CGST and Central Excise authorities of the Ahmedabad and Vadodara Zones, the State Tax Department, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bar Council of Gujarat, trade associations, tax professionals and the GSTAT Principal Bench at New Delhi.

The public notice has been issued with the approval of the Vice-President, GSTAT, having jurisdiction over Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
