The CBDT vide Notification No. 81/2026 dated July 10, 2026 has notified the Principal Secretary, Cooperation, Marketing and Textile Department, Government of Maharashtra, for the purposes of clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 258 of the Income-tax Act, 2025.
The notification has been issued to facilitate the sharing of information relating to income-tax payers with the designated State Government authority. The information will be used for identifying eligible beneficiaries under the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme, 2026.
The measure is expected to support accurate verification of beneficiaries and strengthen transparency in the implementation of the farmer loan waiver scheme by enabling the use of relevant income-tax information in accordance with the provisions of the Income-tax Act, 2025.
