
The Bengaluru Bench of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has notified that it will commence hearing of cases with effect from August 05, 2026. The announcement has been made through Public Notice No. 03/2026 dated July 10, 2026, issued by the GSTAT Bengaluru Bench under the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
As per the Public Notice, the Bench will initially function from its temporary premises situated at NACIN Campus, No. 46, HMT Factory Main Road, next to HMT School, HMT Estate, Jalahalli, Bengaluru – 560013, Karnataka. The commencement of hearings is intended to facilitate adjudication of GST appellate matters before the Bengaluru Bench.
The notice further states that, in terms of Office Order No. 3/GSTAT/PB/2026 dated May 14, 2026 issued by the Hon’ble President, GSTAT, cases before the Bengaluru Bench will be listed according to prescribed categories, court halls, days and timings.
- Category I cases will be heard in Court Hall No. 1, Ground Floor, from Monday to Friday. The hearing timings will be 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
- Category II cases will be heard in Court Hall No. 2, Third Floor. Hearings will take place on Monday and Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and from Wednesday to Friday between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM.
- Category III cases will be heard in Court Hall No. 3, Third Floor. The schedule provides for hearings on Monday and Tuesday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, and from Wednesday to Friday between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM.
The Public Notice also provides that the daily cause list of matters listed before the Bench will be published on the GSTAT e-Filing Portal under the “Cause List” tab. Taxpayers, departmental authorities, authorised representatives, advocates, consultants and other stakeholders have been advised to refer to the portal regularly for updates regarding the listing of their respective matters.
The notice has been issued with the approval of the Hon’ble Vice President, GSTAT, Bengaluru Bench, and is signed by the Assistant Registrar, GSTAT Bengaluru Bench. The commencement of hearings marks an important institutional development for stakeholders seeking appellate remedy in GST matters before the Bengaluru Bench.
