The Commissioner of State Tax, West Bengal, has issued Notification No. 03/2026-C.T./GST dated June 30, 2026, notifying a designated Facilitation Centre for applicants seeking registration under the West Bengal Goods and Services Tax framework in specified jurisdictional areas. The measure is aimed at facilitating biometric-based Aadhaar authentication, taking the photograph of the applicant and verification of original documents uploaded with the GST registration application.
The Notification has been issued in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Rule 8(4A) of the West Bengal Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, and in partial modification of the Department’s earlier Notification No. 03/2024-C.T./GST dated 29.07.2024.
Under the revised arrangement, Facilitation Centre GSK-2 has been designated for applicants falling within several specified jurisdictional areas of Kolkata. These include Park Street, Beliaghata, Bhabanipur, New Market, Taltala, Bowbazar, Esplanade, Fairley Place, Chandni Chawk, Princep Street, Colootola, Ezra Street, College Street, Sealdah, Lalbazar and Radhabazar.
The notified Facilitation Centre is situated at:
GSK-2, Annexe Building-III, Room Nos. 4-002 and 4-003, Ground Floor, 14, Beliaghata Road, Kolkata – 700015.
Applicants covered by the notified jurisdictions may be required to visit the designated centre for completion of the prescribed registration-related verification process, including biometric Aadhaar authentication, photograph capture and verification of original copies of documents uploaded with the application for registration.
The Notification will come into force with effect from 2 July 2026. It was subsequently published in The Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, dated 2 July 2026.
