The Income Tax Department has released the ITR-5 Excel-Based Utility (Version 1.0) on 07 July 2026 for persons other than individuals, HUFs, companies and persons filing Form ITR-7.
The Department has also released the JSON Schema and Validation Rules for ITR-5 on the same date. The Excel utility is 14.1 MB, the JSON Schema is 0.97 MB, and the Validation Rules document is 1.29 MB.
Taxpayers and tax professionals are advised to use the latest utility and related documents available on the official Income Tax e-Filing portal for return preparation and filing.
