The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has marked a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey with the launch of its official website – www.gstat.gov.in on 15th June 2026. The newly launched portal has been designed to provide a comprehensive, user-friendly and transparent digital platform for taxpayers, legal practitioners, departmental officers and all other stakeholders associated with GST appellate proceedings.
The launch of the official GSTAT website represents an important step towards strengthening the institutional framework of the Tribunal and facilitating seamless access to information and services. The portal has been developed with a focus on accessibility, efficiency, transparency and ease of filing, thereby supporting the Government’s broader vision of Digital India and technology-enabled governance.
The website provides stakeholders with access to a wide range of services and information relating to the functioning of the Tribunal. Key features of the portal include the GSTAT E-Filing System, enabling online filing of appeals and related applications; Judgements and Orders Repository for easy access to Tribunal decisions; Cause List and Case Status Tracking facilities; and a Display Board offering real-time updates on proceedings being conducted in various court rooms.
The portal also contains detailed information regarding the Principal Bench and State Benches of the Tribunal established across the country. Users can conveniently select and navigate to the respective Bench pages through the integrated bench selection feature. The website presently hosts information relating to multiple benches, thereby ensuring nationwide accessibility to Tribunal services.
In order to facilitate greater awareness and stakeholder engagement, the portal includes a dedicated User’s Guide section containing instructional videos and step-by-step guidance on registration, login procedures, application filing and re-filing processes under the GSTAT E-Filing framework. These resources have been developed to assist taxpayers and practitioners in effectively utilising the digital services offered by the Tribunal.
The website further showcases the Tribunal’s activities through its Media Gallery, News and Events section and social media integration. Regular updates on awareness programmes, inauguration of benches, stakeholder consultations and other institutional developments will be disseminated through these channels to promote transparency and public outreach.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Justice (Retd.) Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, President, GSTAT, stated that the launch of the official website signifies a transformative phase in the Tribunal’s evolution as a modern, technology-driven appellate institution. He emphasised that the digital platform has been conceptualised to ensure that litigants and stakeholders are able to access Tribunal services with greater convenience, efficiency and confidence.
The portal also provides dynamic statistical dashboards reflecting important data relating to appeals filed, cases registered, matters disposed of and pending cases before various benches of the Tribunal. Such real-time information dissemination is expected to contribute towards enhanced accountability and informed public engagement.
The Government remains committed to leveraging technology to improve the delivery of justice and taxpayer services under the Goods and Services Tax regime. The launch of the GSTAT website is expected to significantly reduce procedural complexities, facilitate electronic interactions and provide a unified digital interface for appellate proceedings under the GST framework.
Citizens, taxpayers and other stakeholders may visit the official GSTAT portal at www.gstat.gov.in to explore the various services and resources now available online.
The newly launched GSTAT portal features a comprehensive real-time statistical dashboard, reflecting the Tribunal’s commitment to transparency, efficiency and data-driven administration. As on 14 June 2026, the dashboard indicates that 16,042 cases have been filed before GSTAT, of which 1,405 cases have been formally registered, while 4,206 cases were filed during June 2026 alone, demonstrating the increasing reliance of taxpayers and stakeholders on the Tribunal’s digital ecosystem. The dashboard further provides bench-wise performance indicators, with the Principal Bench recording 2,006 cases filed, 80 cases registered, 7 cases disposed of and 73 cases pending, thereby enabling stakeholders to monitor the progress of proceedings effectively. Similarly, the Anti-Profiteering Division statistics reveal 244 cases filed and registered, 74 matters disposed of and 170 cases pending. By making such critical information publicly accessible through an interactive platform, the GSTAT website promotes accountability, enhances public confidence in the appellate mechanism and facilitates informed engagement by taxpayers, practitioners and departmental authorities across the country.
