DGFT amends the Export Policy for Raw Human Hair

The DGFT issued Notification No. 59/2024-25 dated February 10, 2025, which amends the Export Policy for Raw Human Hair. The policy has been changed from ‘Restricted’ to ‘Prohibited’. However, exports will be allowed under the ‘Free’ category if the FOB value is US $65 or above per kilogram.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act 1992 read with Para 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Export Policy of Raw Human Hair:

This shall come into force with immediate effect.

Effect of This Notification: The Export Policy of raw Human hair is amended from ‘Restricted’ to ‘Prohibited’. However, export shall be ‘Free’ if FOB value is US Dollar 65 or above per Kilogram.
