The Excise & Taxation Department, Government of Haryana, has issued Order No. 01/2026/GST-II dated January 13, 2026 designating and specifying the functions of Authorized Officers under the Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The order has been issued by Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh, Commissioner of State Tax, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 5(1) of the HGST Act, 2017.
As per the order, the functions to be performed under Section 151 of the Act have been formally assigned to the Deputy Commissioners of State Tax and Excise & Taxation Officers of State Tax. These officers will execute their responsibilities strictly within their respective jurisdictions, except where any specific jurisdiction has been expressly mentioned.
The notification reiterates that the assignment of functions aligns with the statutory framework of the HGST Act, 2017, including provisions relating to the powers of officers as highlighted in the Haryana Government Gazette extract annexed to the order.
This measure aims to ensure efficient tax administration, clarity in officer roles, and strengthened enforcement under the GST regime in Haryana.
