Case registered against three for 25 Lakh GST fraud

Sadar police registered a case against three for allegedly defrauding govt of approximately 25 lakh through fraudulent input tax credit claims under GST.

Complainant, Pramod Rao Pinge, 55, resident of Akhil Vishwabharati Housing Society & an officer at SGST office opposite Ravi Bhavan, alleged that between Sept 19 and Nov 25, 2025, accused — Laddu Khan Pathan, Chandrapal Rai Nanhe & another individual linked to a common mobile number— used fake electricity bills, tax certificates, bank accounts, names & addresses to obtain GST numbers. They filed fake returns, claiming wrongful input tax credit using forged documents.

A case was registered under BNS Sections 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), 3(5) for cheating and forgery, along with sections of Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.
