In a significant step towards enhancing efficiency, transparency and taxpayer facilitation, the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Indore Commissionerate vide Trade Notice No. 02/2025 dated December 10, 2025 has decentralised the processing of new GST registration applications and strengthened the grievance redressal mechanism related to GST registration.
Earlier, new GST registration applications under the Central jurisdiction of the CGST Indore Commissionerate were being processed by the Central Processing Cell (CPC) at the zonal level. It has now been decided that, with effect from 1st November 2025, the processing of such applications will be decentralised and handled by the respective jurisdictional Range Offices. Accordingly, all new GST registration applications in the State of Madhya Pradesh, whose Application Reference Number (ARN) is assigned to Central jurisdiction, will be processed by the concerned Range Superintendent from the said date onwards. However, applications already received and pending with the zonal CPC prior to this date will continue to be processed by the CPC until their final disposal.
In order to further improve taxpayer services, a GST Registration Grievance Redressal Cell has also been established at the Commissionerate level in CGST Indore, in addition to the existing CPC Grievance Redressal Cell at the zonal level. This newly created cell will address issues arising during the processing of GST registration applications and ensure timely resolution of grievances. The cell will function in coordination with the zonal CPC Grievance Redressal Cell to enhance efficiency, transparency and accountability in the GST registration process.
The Commissionerate-level Grievance Redressal Cell will be headed by senior officers and can be contacted through the designated official email ID cgst-ind.sys@gov.in. Taxpayers are required to submit grievances with essential details such as applicant name, ARN/TRN, date of application, jurisdiction, brief description of the issue, supporting documents (if any), and contact details. An acknowledgement will be issued within 48 hours, and resolution or status update will be provided within 7 working days, depending on the complexity of the issue.
This initiative aims to ensure quicker processing of GST registrations, prompt redressal of genuine grievances, and improved ease of doing business for taxpayers. All officers, trade associations, chambers of commerce and industry bodies have been requested to disseminate the contents of this initiative widely among the trade and business community.
Any difficulties in implementation of this measure may be brought to the notice of the CGST Indore Commissionerate through the official email cgst-indore@gov.in.
