Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has received an Order from the Additional Commissioner, Kolkata South (CBIC) demanding ₹ 4.7 crore which includes a basic demand of 2,39,88,028 and a penalty of 2,39,88,028/- for wrongly availing Input Tax Credit, according to the Company’s exchange filing.
The Company is likely to challenge the order before an appropriate authority. “BPCL will file an appeal by making a pre-deposit of 10% of the basic amount demanded,” Bharat Petroleum said in the exchange filing.
The order dated January 21, was received on January 28, 2025.
The Company is set to deposit 23.98 lacs before April 20, 2025.
The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations & Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
