Goa’s GST Collections Dip 3% in October Despite Strong Year-to-Date Growth

Goa’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue saw a marginal decline in October 2025, dropping by three per cent compared to the same month last year, even as cumulative collections for the financial year continue to show an upward trend

According to data released by the Union Finance Ministry, Goa recorded ₹545 crore in GST revenue this October, which is ₹14 crore less than the ₹559 crore collected in October 2024. The fall comes despite the onset of the festive and tourism season, traditionally expected to boost trade and consumption.

However, officials noted that the monthly dip has not affected Goa’s overall revenue trajectory. Between April and October 2025, the State achieved a three per cent year-on-year increase, collecting a total of ₹4,153 crore in GST revenue during the seven-month period.

Of this, ₹1,718 crore was collected through State GST formations, while ₹2,435 crore came under Central formations. The data further indicates that Goa currently has 28,777 GSTIN-registered entities under State jurisdiction and 19,254 under Central jurisdiction.

The latest figures reflect a steady, though uneven, revenue pattern for Goa — suggesting that while the festive season did not yield the expected surge in October, the State’s broader GST performance remains resilient.
