The DGFT through Notification No. 54/2024-25 dated January 24, 2025, has imposed restrictions on the import of herbicide Glufosinate and its salts (with a minimum purity of 95%) priced below Rs 1,289 per kg to discourage low-priced inbound shipments. However, imports are allowed without any restriction if the CIF (cost, insurance, and freight) value is Rs 1,289 per kg or above. Products falling under the restricted category will require a government-issued license for import.
