Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu said that the new GST 2.0 reforms will boost the ‘Make in India’ initiative and help increase domestic production. Speaking in the State Legislative Assembly in Amaravati yesterday, Mr Naidu said that the GST 2.0 reforms are expected to benefit the country by 2.25 lakh crore rupees, with Andhra Pradesh alone likely to gain nearly 8,000 crore rupees.
Announcing a month-long awareness drive, he said the State government will organise 65,000 meetings across Andhra Pradesh to highlight the advantages of GST 2.0 until the Diwali festival. The Chief Minister said that a door-to-door campaign will be launched to inform people about how GST cuts have reduced prices on essential goods like food items, medicines, household products, and more.
Display boards showing the new, lower prices will be put up across the state. Mr Naidu urged all MLAs and ministers to take an active part in the campaign. He also encouraged people to celebrate the upcoming festivals in a big way and take full advantage of the new, people-friendly GST changes.
